My family and I don’t have the tradition of doing an Advent calendar. But this time I thought it would be neat if I could post something special about Christmas starting from around 12 days of Christmas. Though I can’t promise I will be able to post every day…
As you can see, time already got the better of me, (or should I say the school finals?) and I am two days late. I’m happy to say though, that I am now on Christmas break! It started precisely yesterday! And today I had a day full of bustling about. It feels so good to have time to do other activities, blog, and get ready for Christmas.
I’ll name the special things that I’ll be posting about: “twinkles” ….because it sounds special, like Christmas lights, celebration, and like little joys, or twinkling bells.
Here’s the 1st twinkle for Day 1:
I got an early Christmas present. Well, I actually gifted myself with it, but I got it for such a low price that it was like a gift! And I’ve been wanting this book for awhile, so I’m thankful I actually own it now, and God granted my desire!
Here’s the 2nd twinkle for Day 2:
This morning my sisters and I made crepes for breakfast (yes, celebrating our Christmas break with a leisurely breakfast), and while I made the crepes, Abigail read from the Bible to us, so we did our devotion together this time. She read from Deuteronomy, where she is with her daily reading.
Here’s a verse from what we read which was encouraging for me and is the second twinkle of the countdown to Christmas 🙂
“See, the LORD your God has given you the land. Go up and take possession of it as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, told you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. ” (Deuteronomy 1:21)
I’ll be keeping an eye out for different special little snippets of my life that I can share with you till we reach Christmas!
What about you? What have you been doing?
