It’s the day after Christmas, but I’m still celebrating! I think as Christians we should continue celebrating God’s gift of sending us His only begotten Son, all throughout December, and all throughout the year for that matter.
So I would like to share with you an amazing video of the Christmas Eve message sent from outer space in 1968! It was done by the crew of Apollo 8 when they saw beautiful planet Earth from God’s perspective. It gives me goosebumps hearing the message of those astronauts who were reading a portion Scripture from outer space- out there in the vast universe, and thinking of our infinite and marvelous Creator! And God created all this for us, He thought of us, and sent His Son to die in our place!
The only fitting thing I can think of saying after such a message is to declare my praise to God along with the psalmist:
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
(Psalm 8:3-4)
That’s really cool!!
Hmm…the video isn’t showing. But I was able to find it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkJEFs0XrrQ.
Thank you for sharing, that was good. 🙂 Merry (belated) Christmas!
Well, now the video IS showing! Maybe I should have just reloaded the page. 🙂
Hi Esther,
Yes I think I hadn’t embedded it correctly at first, but now it’s fixed! Thanks for letting me know!
