Bible Journal: Daily Reading

Hello ladies! I’d like to share with you what I read this morning from the Word in my daily Bible reading.

What did you read today? Or yesterday? Share with me a verse that stood out to you today.

I read from Isaiah Chapter 7 in the Old Testament. And I discovered a verse about Christmas in there!
It was a prophecy about the birth of Christ:

Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him  Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:13,14)

This verse stood out to me because it’s the 2nd of December and everyone is anticipating Christmas. Houses already have Christmas lights put out, stores have decorated for Christmas, the weather is chilly and the air has that winter-y Christmas-y tinge in it!In the New Testament I’m reading in Romans chapter 4. It is a very rich theological book, and it would take several posts for me to share with you some things from it.

But for now I just want to share with you a verse of encouragement:

Yet he [Abraham] did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,  being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. (Romans 4:20)

Abraham did not doubt God’s promise. God made us promises too, and He has the power to do what He promised us!
So even when times are hard, or we feel overwhelmed, doubtul and tired…when you feel like God is slow to answer prayers or fulfill His promise, don’t give up hope but be fully persuaded like Abraham was. God will do what He promised!

Don’t forget to share what you read today!
