Silence is broken

Scripture I read today: Daniel Chapter 6. “Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governers and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was any error or fault found in him… So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.” AMEN!

Current status:  On Christmas break for about a month and a half, and couldn’t be more grateful. It’s the earliest break I’ve had since I’ve been in college, and good thing too- because it sounds like next semester will be packed.

Last week’s (and the week before) status: Write for this project, finish that assignment, keep it up cause you’ll be done soon. Too busy to write a blog post, too busy to write an email, post on instagram at least.

Feeling like: Aaaah! Giddy with excitement that I’m on break and I get to do my stuffmy projectsand fulfill my deadlines and due dates not the ones that the professors put for me!

Today’s forecast: Rainy with bursts of sunlight between the clouds, very windy, and cold!

Current mood: Thankful, cozy, excited.

New favorite scent: Pine tree scent (ha ha! seriously)

Relieved and grateful: All the projects + assignments for the semester are complete and they were successfully done, though there was some trouble with group members who didn’t submit their work on time. My (other) group and I got compliments from our professor on the originality of our project (thank the Lord, because I worked the hardest on it, and I personally detest group projects. You can guess why).

App I recommend: Bible Memory- Remember Me
Nothing fancy about it. But it’s practical and great for practicing Bible verses you want to memorize! (Not affiliated with the creators of the app in any way FYI).

Verses I’ve been working on memorizing:   Ephesians 1:3-12

Today’s lovely find: My mom and I went to the local home improvement store where they sell Christmas trees. And we found pine tree branches for FREE! The man sitting there who packs up Christmas trees said we could take as many as we wanted. Don’t mind if I do! We gathered an armful so we can decorate around the home and make wreaths. (You bet I’m going back for more).
I also bought a PVC pipe for a mysterious project/Christmas gift I have in mind…and I’ll leave you guessing what the project is until I complete it and maybe post about it after it’s done!

Last week’s special event: A delightful Christmas concert with a college choir and orchestra at church! They sang a few Handel pieces such as “For Unto Us a Child is Born” and “The Glory of the Lord”, which my family and I knew and sang by heart along with the choir. Here’s the video for you to enjoy too:

Accomplishments: Got to cross some things off my to-do list today! Sent my rented textbooks back, and did overall organizing.

Still itsy bitsy stressed: Cause I have lot’s more stuff I wanna do and I don’t know when I’ll have the time to do it all….but I have to take a deep breath and ask the Lord for help, and let Him order everything.

Looking forward to: Going caroling!

I fell behind with: Decorating the house for Christmas. I feel like everyone rushed this year to decorate and is in the Christmas mood and I’m not ready.

New Christmas carol that I enjoy listening to: Love came Gently

New question for you: What has been keeping you busy, stressing you out, on your planning list, on your accomplishments list, and basically….how has this season of life been for you?

  1. Whew! This has been a crazy busy season! Not only are we in the midst of fun Christmas plans, we are also on the tail-end of house-building! When so many projects are SO close to being wrapped up and you just want it all done. 😉

Good to hear about your life, Becky! 🙂
